PRESS NOTE

Today on 04-12-2018 on the call of Bharatiya Postal Employees Federation and it’s affiliated unions thousands of Postal employees are on one day Nationwide strike in support of their genuine demands. (Copy attached).

Addressing the Press/ meeting Santosh Kr. Singh Secretary General , B.P.E.F. said that D.O.P had called for a meeting with all of our General Secretaries to discuss the Charter of demands, but the Department has not taken any proactive measure action towards our demands and due to immature attitude of Department, the meeting held on 03-12-2018 concluded without any fruitful result and assurance and we have got no option and compel to go on one day strike today. Mr. Singh also reiterated that our main demands like Scrapping of NPS, Cent Percent compassionate appointment, abolition of Bench Mark in APAR for grant of MACP, revision of multiplication factor of 7^th CPC , non implement of Kamlesh Chandra Committee Report, Cadre restructuring of different cadres in Postal / RMS/ Postal Accounts/ Civil Dn. / S.B.C.O. , amendment in Recruitment rules in Postal Accounts, restoration of Out station allowance etc. and he said that if Department not resolve these issue within estipulate period then BPEF shall hold big trade union activities programme shortly.

Discussion Failed hence the BPEF affiliates unions decided to continue the Nation wide Strike on 4-12-2018

As you all are well aware of that BPEF ( All affiliated Unions including GDS) served notice on 01-11-2018 to hold one day Nationwide Strike on 04-12-2018 in support of 36 demands of regular employees and 7 demands of GDS employees.

On 29-11-2018 a meeting called for by Hon’ble DDG (SR & Legal) to discuss the strike matter on 03-12-2018 at Postal Directorate Room No. 347-D Dak Bhawan, New Delhi . Accordingly meeting held today at 11.30 hrs to 14.30 hrs. with the Administration of Postal Directorate and 7 General Secretaries along with Secretary General were present in the meeting from Staff Side.

The role of the Department was not found positive , rather it seems as the Department exercised formalities only.

In absence of any fruitful result after a long hectic discussion, it is unanimously decided by BPEF team to continue the one day strike on 04-12-2018 .

Hence it is appealed to all the office bearers and members of BPEF affiliate’s unions to make the strike grand success.

NEWS IN BRIEF

1. Children Education Allowance of GDS : Order is likely to be issued.

2. Leave Encashment for GDS : Order is likely to be issued.

3. Voluntary retirement for GDS : Order is likely to be issued.

4. OSA to RMS Staff : A Committee has been formed under the Chairmanship of Chief PMG Odisa. The First meeting of committee is scheduled to be held very shortly. The Union office bearers will be invited in 2^nd meeting of Committee for taking views of union regarding OSA.

5. Revision of Uniform Allowance: To revise the present uniform allowance Rs. 5000/- to 10000/-, it has been decided by the Postal Board to form a committee to examine the demand of BPEF.
