Subject:      Notice for nationwide Agitational Programme served by Bharatiya Postal Employees Federation and its affiliated unions/associations to be held from 23.01.2017 to 30.01.2017– Instructions – Regarding.

Sir/Madam,

          I am directed to inform you that Bharatiya Postal Employees Federation (BPEF) and its affiliated unions/associations have jointly served a notice vide letter No. BPEF/Affiliated Unions/Dharna-/Notice/2017 dated 16.01.2017 (copy enclosed). BPEF and its affiliated unions/associations have decided to go on nationwide agitational programme at all Divisional Headquarters in support of Charter of Demands as per following schedule:-

Ø  Lunch hour demonstration before duty place – 23.01.2017 to 29.01.2017

Ø  One Day Dharna at Divisional Headquarter to protest in favor of Charter of Demands –30.01.2017.

2.       It is requested that necessary steps may be taken to tackle the agitation/hunger fast situation as per instructions issued by the Department from time to time, especially the Contingency Plan circulated vide letter No. 8-8/2001-SR dated the 8^th January, 2002.   Further, adequate security arrangements may be made for the safety of Departmental Property, particularly the sophisticated equipments including AMPC, Server etc. and to see that the employees willing to perform their duties are not harassed/prevented from entering office to perform duty, by the striking employees.   Wide publicity should be given to the consequences of participating in strike viz. apart from the application of the principle of ‘No work, no pay’, it may also invite action under provisions of FR 17A.   The GDS may invite action in terms of provisions contained in GDS (Service and Conduct), Rules. The staff may also be apprised of the fact that the Department is committed to consider the issues raised in the Charter of Demands within the framework of the existing rules and instructions of the Government of India/Department of Posts.
